CONTEMPORARY ARTIST
Leah K Read
Exploring transformation, memory, relationships, and wonder through layered mixed media.
My work begins with paying attention to what is often overlooked. Creating is how I explore and understand the world, allowing curiosity to guide the process and meaning to emerge over time.
Working with encaustic, cyanotype, and mixed media, I build each piece through layers of material, image, and history. Worn book pages, newspaper, photographs, and other familiar materials become part of an ongoing conversation between past and present. Through this process, relationships appear, materials are transformed, and what was once overlooked can be seen differently.
